Tv Advert Soundtrack :D
So after long deliberation of which advert to use , i eventually found myself with the Nike advert. the advert itself is based on a bunch of robots playing sport with the city as their pitch. The original soundtrack to this advert had lots of industrial and mechanical noises , so i decided to go a little more upbeat with my track - producing a funky house sound to fit the video. I created my track in Logic Pro 9 , the nice thing about this digital audio workstation is that it allows you to play the movie in realtime as you edit it , making all of the crash, bangs and wallops easy to posistion . Logic Pro 9 is my favourite DAW for many reasons , due to its ease of use and high quality sounds that come of it . Heres a little screenshot of the finished advert sound track opened up in Logic.
As you can see from the picture the layout is fairly simple and rather similar to other DAW's out there , i personally reccomend grabbing yourselves a copy and having a play , its fun , time consuming and can make you a lot of money ! Any way , heres the video you have all been waiting for , Why not comment and let me know what you think?

Having a go at Video Dj-ing!
As part of our college course we had to have a look at producing a 30 second clip of us video dj-ing . A concept of which i had only heard of - never attempted , im just used to mixxing tracks together not video clips ontop :P After showing us the software which we could use we all set to work . First of all I spent about and hour trawling the web for suitable vj clips eventually i found my ideal set on a website called "www.archive.org" A huge internet database consisting of anything and everything.
The software we were using is called Qwerty Vj ( not exactly sure how the letters on a keyboard resembled video djing , but they did ! )
Here it is , its a fairly straight forward deal of affairs with two individual screens to show the images/videos before they are mixxed , then a third screen to show the two images mixxing together , the mix of the images is controlled by the cross fader beneath it. The nice feature about this software is that it has a built in recording feature that you can set to record whilst you mix.
So heres a little video of me having a quick go at it :)
And thats about it for my little insight into the world of video djing :)

Matrix and Futurebound, Inspirational Music !
Having both pursued long, successful solo careers, Matrix & Futurebound need no introduction to drum & bass fans around the world. Both run their own labels -Matrix with Metro Recordings, and Futurebound with the Viper Recordings imprint. With releases on virtually every top label from Virus and Ram to Moving Shadow and Hospital Records, Matrix and Futurebound's individual accomplishments speak for themselves. Their first collaborative effort, 2005's 'Strength 2 Strength', formed the groundwork for what would later turn into the release of their critically acclaimed debut album, 'Universal Truth'. With huge support from the top DJs in drum & bass and the likes of Radio 1's Annie Mac and Zane Lowe, Universal Truth went on to become one of the most successful drum & bass albums to date.
The result was a sublime combination of straight up dance floor devastation and soulful futurism demonstrating perfectly why Matrix and Futurebound have found themselves firmly at the forefront of the drum and bass scene. Both have kept their fingers on the pulse with various other projects since the release of 'Universal Truth'. Matrix, in collaboration with Shimon, released 'Slipstream' / 'Dirty 5th' on Shimon's newly formed AudioPorn Records. In the meantime, Futurebound teamed up with the Brookes Brothers to create the soulful anthem 'Dawn Treader', released on Adam F and Fresh's Breakbeat Kaos label. Futurebound's label Viper Recordings has also been quickly climbing the ladder as one of the top drum & bass labels in the scene with releases from new signings Shock One, Metrik, Brookes Brothers, and DC Breaks, just to name a few.
Latest Single by Futurebound & Metrik |
Matrix & Futurebound teamed up again in 2007 to release their remix of Nu:tone's 'System'. The tune became an instant classic. Dropped by top DJs such as Andy C, Danny Bryd and Friction, 'System' has become a permanent fixture in DJ bags all over the world ever since. They then went on to remix Justin Timberlake's 'Love Stoned' for the remix single release. Matrix & Futurebound then released their first follow up single to 'Universal Truth', with 2008's 'Womb' / 'Family' (Nu:tone & Logistics RMX).
A slew of heavyweight remixes for the duo came about in 2009 from some of the world's most famous electronic and dance producers. Having done remixes for Moby, Snap, Sasha, Ian Carey, Lazee, and Agent X, Matrix & Futurebound's services have never been in higher demand.
2011 will see Matrix & Futurebound release their much anticipated 'Worldwide: 001' DJ Mix/Compilation album. The first in a series, 'Worldwide: 001' is a perfect snapshot of electronic dance culture in 2011, keeping a sharp focus on the freshest Drum & Bass around whilst also drawing on Dubstep and electro to capture the sound of a Matrix & Futurebound performance in all its glory. Worldwide: 001 features new & exclusive cuts from: Matrix & Futurebound, Nero, Metrik, ShockOne & Phetsta, Dirtyphonics, Camo & Krooked, Furlonge, Eric Prydz, Smooth, Moving Fusion, Culture Shock, Brookes Brothers, Cutline, Tantrum Desire & many more.
